Back in 2013, I was working in insurance handling roofing claims. I spent my days reviewing damage assessments and talking to homeowners who felt invisible in the process. They didn't want a transaction. They wanted someone to listen, to explain what was actually happening to their roof, and to guide them through a confusing system. Instead, most contractors operated like they were running a factory line. Phone calls went unreturned. Estimates came back in technical jargon that no one understood. That's when I realized something was broken. Not the roofs—the way people were being served. I decided to start Pelican Roofs SoCal with a different model entirely.
